Which Wire of Mighty Cord Trailer Connector Adapter # A10-7084VP Is for Charging Battery
Question:
Looking at Item # A10-7084VP Is the yellow “12 volt” wire the one that will allow my vehicle to charge up my camper battery when hauling? I have a factory 4 way on my 2002 Ford Sport Trac. I need a 7 way for my trailer and also a non permanent brake controller as this tow vehicle is only temporary.

Expert Reply:
The black wire of the 7-way adapter part # A10-7084VP that you referenced is normally the circuit associated with charging a trailer battery. That said the yellow wire could be too as long as you wired up the trailer to match.
From the adapter to your vehicle battery you will need to run 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) through a breaker like part # 9510.
