Curt or Fastway Weight Distribution for Trailer that Weighs 3,000 lb Dry
Question:
I drive a Toyota Highlander with a 20 foot 3000 pound dry weighttravel trailer is there a lot of difference between the fast ways e2hitch and the Curt 17500 hitch is the curt to heavy duty and will it make my ride to rigid . If I purchased the fast way e2 I would look at getting the 6000 pound rated one my car has a factory mounted 5000 pound tow rating. Thank you

The Curt and Fastway kits are pretty similar and were designed both as replicas of the very popular Equal-i-zer weight distribution systems which are very effective and considered by many to be the best option out there. What's interesting though is the at Fastway is made by same company as Equal-i-zer so they are able to copy the design the closest. Overall we see fewer issues with Fastway kits over Curt kits so that would be the route I would recommend.
Since you want to go with a weight distribution system that has a tongue weight range where your trailer's tongue weight falls right into the middle of the best Fastway kit will be the part # FA92-00-0800 which has a tongue weight range of 400 - 800 lbs.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286 and then to install the balls you'll need a thin walled socket like the part # ALL643216 and you'd be set.
