Do All Four Exhaust Hangers Need Removed To Install the Curt Hitch C13315 on a 2019 Mazda CX-5

Question:

I lowered the muffler as far as I could and the hitch would not fit past the lower part of the rear bumper no matter what I did. The sides of the bumper curve back inwards and the part would not fit in. Was I doing it wrong or does it not fit the late model 2019 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13315 is a confirmed fit for your 2019 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve. I confirmed this with my contact at Curt. In regards to installation, how many of the exhaust hangers did you remove? If you just removed the rear two exhaust hangers then that might be why you cannot maneuver the trailer hitch up into place as you will need to remove all four hangers in order to drop the muffler low enough to slide the trailer hitch into place. Also, there is a plastic trim piece under the rear bumper that is only present on the Grand Touring model that you will need to remove.

I have attached a video for you that actually shows the entire process. Please let me know if you still have trouble after confirming you have removed all four exhaust hangers.
