Is Trailer Wiring Kit for 2011 Volvo S40 with Power Wire Ran to Battery the Best Solution
Question:
I have a 2011 Volvo S40. I happen to have a Hopkins HM48915 I bought from you a couple of years ago but never installed. My question is if this would be sufficient. The trailer I just bought is small, but it has several running lights on it, and I dont know if its ok to get power from the taillights, or If I should get a converter that gets power elsewhere. If I need to upgrade from the one I have, can you recommend the next cheapest option? Thanks

If your trailer has several lights on it for the running light circuit it's most likely going to draw a decent amount of amperage and it will be in your best interest to go with a trailer wiring harness that draws power directly from the trailer battery like the Curt part # C56069 which is a confirmed fit for your 2011 Volvo S40. The install is longer as you have the extra step of running the power wire up to the vehicle battery, but the added peace of mind you get by knowing that the taillight circuits of your vehicle are protected really is worth it.
