Towing Capacity and Towing Equipment for 2015 Chrysler Town and Country

Question:

What is the heaviest RV weight I can pull with a 2015 TandC Touring van, using your 3 part recommendations, 75579, EBMK4EL and 118534 and does using these 3 parts reach the maximum weight safely pulled or is something else required? Im trying to determine the max RV weight I can purchase and pull before minimally adding any gear.

Your 2015 Chrysler Town and Country Touring van's towing capacity is set by Chrysler and the online owner's manual I reviewed indicates the 3.6L automatic transmission van can tow a trailer up to 3600-lbs with 2 passengers in the van. With more passengers and more luggage in the van the towing capacity drops. This information appears on page 562 of the online manual, which I have sent separately for you, but your printed manual may differ so it's good to check it too.

Draw-Tite hitch # 75579 is a great choice along with 4-pole wiring kit # C56331 and ball mount kit # EBMK4EL. Instructions and videos for these are linked.

Please note that although these towing items may have higher capacities than the van does, they do not increase the weight the van can tow. That maximum towing capacity remains what was determined by Chrysler.

You might care to add a set of towing mirrors such as the dual lens model # KS3990. These clip on to your factory mirrors and give you a better rear view of the trailer and other motorists behind you.

If your RV has electric brakes you will also need a trailer brake controller such as the Curt Echo # C51180 which offers very easy installation. You need only a smartphone to serve as display and control device and to upgrade the 4-pole harness # 118534 to a 7-way using part # ETBC7L. No other wiring is necessary. Please see the video on the Echo.
