Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2011 Nissan Frontier
Question:
I have a 2011 Frontier without a tow package. I need to tow a trailer. I thought that I needed to splice-in a Power Convert to protect the sensitive alternator system. I really dont want to do any splicing. Ive done it all my life and am just too old to do it anymore. Are you telling me that this kit has all the electrical relays, plug-together wiring harness etc. etc. and complete instructions to accomplish a neat factory-like job through T-connections? Is this a new product that just became available? Please let me know. Thanks.

You are correct on all counts. Wiring harness # C56225 for the 2011 Nissan Frontier is a newer product, it is a T-Connector style of connector, it does come with all the relays needed to activate the wiring, and it is more professional than a splice-in type of harness. I have included a link to the installation details for you.
The only part that I recommend adding is a mounting bracket for the 4-Way. What you can do is use # 18144 with short bracket # 18140 or long bracket # C57202. This will give you a professional appearance at the back of the vehicle.
Another option is to attach # 18144 to the hitch and use it. This would be an easier installation, but you would be limited as to where you could put the bracket.
