The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 brake controller # 90885 measures 3-1/8 wide x 5-1/8 long x 2 tall so you can compare it to the size of the dash compartment in your Silverado to see if it will provide a satisfactory fit. Of course, the controller's power, boost and manual override controls all need to be accessible to you so while most of the unit's housing can be stowed in the dash slot you'll need to keep the front part within easy reach. In a Silverado with factory tow package this unit plugs in using wiring adapter # 3016.

If you prefer to avoid having to give up the handy coin tray to install the controller you can use either of the included mounting options, a metal bracket and a plastic pocket that attach to the dash.

Since these can get in the way of your knees there are other brake controllers that do not use the single box design, such as the RedArc To Pro Elite # RED44FR which installs with wiring adapter # 331-TPH-010 and that uses a multi-part design that keeps the control knob close to you while allowing the bulkier parts of the unit to be mounted out of your way.
