Trailer Hitch and Wiring Harness for 2015 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
I have a 2015 Toyota Tacoma I want to buy a trailer hitch black matte finish one is fine and I need a wiring harness kit but I’m not sure I can’t seem to find a wire under the Rio Grande for a hitch so I might need to run one all the way back but I’m confused any advice would be helpful thank you

Since your 2015 Toyota Tacoma doesn't have a hitch or trailer wiring already the wiring harnesses we carry that fit plug in to connectors that are either along the frame rail or behind the tail lights. If you can't find a connector under the rear of the truck then you'll remove the tail lights and connect the harness inline with the tail light wiring. I've linked an install video of the Tekonsha harness, part # 118496, on a 2015 Tacoma. The Tekonsha is what I recommend because it has a more reliable converter and higehr maximum amp draw than the others. So basically it'll last longer and it has less chance of being overloaded by a trailer's lights than other harnesses.
The hitch for your Tacoma with a black matte finish is part # E98850. Everything you need for the install is included and I've also linked a video for you. I've also linked some articles you might find helpful.
If you don't already have a ball mount I linked our selection that fits the 2 inch hitch receiver. We sell a kit, part # 989900, that you might be interested in that includes two ball mounts with different rise or drop optoins as well as two different sized hitch balls.
