Best Ways To Add Extra Cargo Space to a 2016 Ford Escape

I have a 2016 Ford escape with a moon roof. We need extra cargo. What can we use to beat fit our needs?

I have a few options for your 2016 Ford Escape that will allow you to add extra cargo space. I see that you were looking at the Thule Outbound Rooftop Cargo Bag part # TH868 but this will not be a good choice for you because it would sit directly on top of the moon roof which is just asking for problems to be had. Instead, if you wanted to utilize the roof you would want a roof rack and cargo basket.

For a roof rack, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbar System part # RRVA126B-2 and part # RRSX100 if you have raised side rails or part # RRVA137B-2, part # RRRLKVA, and part # DK375 if you don't. For a cargo basket you can then use the Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket part # RMCB.
