Replacement Bearing Kit for 3500-lb Axle with # 84 Spindle
Question:
Bearing kit for #84 spindle, L44649/L68149. We just bought a 2017 travel trailer and i think to play it safe before we make a couple long trips this summer i want to change out the bearings sets and tires. My travel trailer has 3500LB Lippert axles with the ez lube grease certs and i was wondering if this particular wheel bearing kit will fit? I got onto lipperts website and it pointed me at this particular kit on your website. I was hoping to see if you guys knew for sure before i pulled my hub assembly and started searching for p/ns? Any info is much appreciated. Will this bearing set work with the easy lube kit? Is lubrimatic lmx industrial grease the recommended wheel bearing grease- L11390?

The Bearing Kit # BK2-100 includes bearings, races and a grease seal for a # 84 spindle which is indeed commonly found on a 3500-lb axle. It is compatible with your EZ-Lube spindles. If you want to put your mind at ease you can simply pull one hub and check the bearing part numbers to confirm they match but truthfully I would not worry since you already checked this with Lippert. You'll need one bearing kit per hub.
For new bearing grease the very best choice is LMX Red. This formula withstands pressure, high temperatures and water better than others. You can order it in 14-ounce cartridges as part # L11390 along with grease gun # L30416. Always be sure to completely clean out all old grease from the hubs since some combinations of grease are not compatible with each other. An article on the subject is included for you.
Do be careful when you're filling the hubs with grease. The ease of using EZ-Lube spindles and a grease gun can sometimes lead to over-filling and this could blow out the new seals. Use care to avoid over-filling.
