The S.H code on the Tekonsha Primus IQ brake controller means the brake wire sees a short when the brake pedal is not being depressed. Tekonsha also mentions in the instructions if you are using a test light or non-Tekonsha testers it may give you a false error code reading. Also if your 7-way has testing lights built in, you may get the S.H code on the Primus screen.

The first step is to check all your connections for dirt or corrosion. You checked the ground wire going back to the trailer and didn't see an issue. Check the ground wires on the vehicle as well for debris or corrosion. The ground has to be grounded to a clean bare metal surface. Then check the connections at the brake controller itself. It is a good idea to check the blue wire is properly wired to the brake controller plug if its hardwired. Then make sure the connectors of the vehicle and trailer side are fully seated, clean and free of debris or corission.

If you are still getting an error code after checking your connections, the short may be on the truck side. It sounds like you tested for continuity from the brake circuit on the plug to the trailer brakes and didn't see a problem. Check the blue wire from the plug to the brake controller for any damaged or frayed wiring. If you find a damaged section of brake wire you can replace it with 10 Gauge blue wire part # 10-1-1 and butt connectors part # DW05745-5.
