Will Curt X5 5th-Wheel Base Rail Adapter Plate Work With Curt Gooseneck 60680 on 2016 GMC 3500HD
Question:
I have a 2016 GMC 3500 Denali. The camper I am getting is grossing at 20,000. I have a hide a hitch in my truck now the Curt 60680. Will the Curt adapter plate X5 Gooseneck to 5th wheel. #16220 be the right match for this. I am trying to use my gooseneck instead of drilling holes for rails.

I contacted Curt and they confirmed that the Curt X5 5th-Wheel Base Rail Adapter Plate # C16220 will work with the Curt Gooseneck 60680 you currently have in your 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 Denali.
This adapter will allow you to mount a fifth wheel hitch so you don't have to drill holes for rails. For a fifth wheel hitch that is compatible I highly recommend the Curt A20 # C16541 for a sliding hitch if your '16 GMC is a short bed or # C16140 for a fixed fifth wheel hitch if your truck is a long bed.
The A20 has a highly secure connection with your trailer's king pin because of its interlocking dual jaw system that wraps totally around your king pin. It also has a handy indicator system which will let you know if the jaws on the hitch are ready to couple, uncouple or tow, making the process of hooking up or disconnecting your trailer much simpler.
This hitch has a fully articulating head which also eases the coupling process and built in zerk fittings so you can lube the hitch without issue.
Both models of the Curt A20 fifth wheel hitch, # C16541 and # C16140, have a 20,000 lb capacity which is the same as the capacity as the X5 5th-Wheel Base Rail Adapter Plate # C16220.
