Universal Wiring with Powered Module for 2008 Chevy Express 3500 Cutaway Van

Hi, I am looking to wire my van / truck but no one offers a unit without all the factory style plugs, as my Unicell truck box is using the Truck lights and not the factory Chevy tail lights. I want the powered module for the protection and the added power to the trailer tail and running lights. Do you have any suggestions? Sincerely,

If you are looking for a wiring kit like the Hopkins # 31345 but that uses universal wiring as opposed to the connectors that tee in behind the tail lights on a 2008 Chevy Express Van then you will still need to use the Hopkins wiring kit as there are not any without the quick and speedy connection. However, you can just snip those connectors off and splice your connections

This kit calls for splicing to your tail light wires whether it is with butt connectors or the included quick splices, and it also comes with the ModuLite and the power wire that you run to the battery of your Chevy. All of this protects the wiring on your vehicle while giving you a trailer connector for the basic lighting functions.

Attached is a sample installation you can refer to. In the video we use the heat shrink butt connectors # DW05744-5 which provide a much more secure connection than the included quick splices plus they offer protection against any water as well.
