Replacing RV Door Window and Frame with Butyl Tape Sealant

Question:

I have replaced the frame pieces before and found it difficult to keep the glass in place while assembling the inside frame. After that, I viewed a how to video that described adding a sticky tape to the outside frame that the glass could be placed against to hold it in place during assembly as well as seal the window. I can see where that would be particularly useful. Do you sell such a tape or can you tell me what to ask for?

Helpful Expert Reply:

For what you are describing, I recommend the LaSalle Bristol XTRM Butyl Tape - 60' L x 3/4" W - Qty 1 # 344270341410-1. This tape is a sticky pliable tape that will create a moisture barrier so it will help keep the glass in place for installation as well as created the weather seal you referenced.

This sealant is used on vents, awnings, and windows for a good weather seal.
