Back-up Alert Recommendation for a 2004 Toyota 4Runner

Question:

I have a 2004 Toyota 4runner and want to replace the back up bulbs with the light/audible alert bulbs. My original toyota light number is 7440.... I only see that you have the 3156 and the 1156... do you have one with two electrical contacts that I twist into the socket in my trunk space Thanks

In terms of a Hopkins Backup Alert with a light that plugs into the tail light socket, we only have # HM20100VA and # HM20101VA which cover the two most common sizes (1156 and 3156).

What I recommend for you on your 2004 Toyota 4Runner is the Custer Surface Mount Back-up Alarm, # BK97DB. This unit can be mounted in an out of the way place at the back of the vehicle. It will connect to a reverse light circuit behind one of the vehicle tail lights and will pump out 97 decibels of sound when the vehicle is in reverse. To give you some idea of the loudness it is about equivalent to a table saw running.
