Recommended Tire Chains for Emergency Situation with 285/70R17 Tires on a 2012 Ford F-150
Question:
I have a 2012 Ford F-150 SuperCrew 4x4 with P285/70R17 BFG A/Ts I am looking for the best snow tire chain for my vehicle. I am looking for max traction and durability. If I actually had to put chains on my 4x4, I imagine it would be a worst case scenario of deep snow and slick ice.

The best tire chains for a worst-case scenario for the 285/70R17 tires you have on your 2012 Ford F-150 would be the Pewag All Square Snow Tire Chains # PWE3229S. These chains have bigger 7-mm-thick square links that are designed to be used for on-road and off-road applications which makes them perfect if you slid off of the road.
We also recommend using the Multi-Arm Rubber Adjusters # PW105 to help keep the chains from becoming loose during use.
Please note that since you have larger tires on your pickup you will need to be careful about clearance.
