How To Pick Out Matching Yakima Lock Cores for Yakima Roof Rack
Question:
I have a Yakima rack system on my pick-up camper shell. I am looking at adding some racks to my small camper. I know I can have one key work all of the lock cylinders. When I order the lock cylinders from you, is it possible to get a specific key/lock cylinder so they match my existing keys/lock cylinders? If so, how do I place the order to request the specific lock cylinder and key?

Yes, if you can get the number stamped on your current Yakima key you can pick out replacement lock cores to match that number. You'll then need to just search our site for the part number Y8771-XXX where the X's equal your key number and you'll see the matching lock core. For example if you had key number A135 you'd need the lock core part # Y8771-A135.
Now to install new lock cores you need the control key part # Y8007835. Insert this into the new lock core and then slide the core into the rack. Once fully inserted pull out the change key and it's installed. For a replacement key you'd want the part # Y8772-A135.
