Solution for Lowering Nose of Trailer that Uses Convert a Ball Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter

Question:

After installing the convert a ball offset gooseneck hitch, the adapter is not level with the trailer. It appears that the two screws holding the extension plate in place have caused the angle of the adapter plate to go up in the front. The ball seats just fine into the adapter, but my concern is the angle may put stress on the gooseneck. I havent been able to find any information online. The angle is probably only 5 degrees or less but noticable.

The Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter w/ Offset # CAB-C5GX1216 is height adjustable from 12 inch to 16 inch tall. You might check to make sure it's set in the shortest setting. Another thing you can check is the pin box height setting. A lot of the time you can unbolt the pin box from the trailer frame and then reattach it using a higher set of mounting holes and in doing so will lower the nose of the trailer.
