Troubleshooting Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller Getting Very Hot

Just installed the prodigy p2 in my 2018 f-350 ,I was holding the brake controller in my hand and noticed it was getting very hot, theres nothing in the troubleshooting chart that covers that

The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 should not be getting very hot. I recommend checking your wiring to make sure you are getting the correct power to the unit. I recommend using a circuit tester to test the pins where you connect the wiring harness # 22292. It could be that there are bent pins or something that are causing more power to come on that 12V power to the controller. You may want to test for both voltage and amperage using a multimeter like # PT89ZR.
It sounds like you either have too much power getting to the unit or a bad ground connection.
