Can the Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch # BDW15017 be Mounted on Front Rail of Trailer

Question:

I was interested in this Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch - Wire Rope - Hawse Fairlead - 3,400 lbs, Item # BDW15017 to mount to my trailer Carry-On Trailer 6 ft. x 14 ft. Landscape Utility Trailer, 5,500 Lb. Capacity It would need to be mounted with a plate on the rail at front as I have a Dee Zee Triangle Toolbox, 6 cu. ft mounted to carry gear on tongue Any chance of getting something that will work or can be welded in place? Thanks

The Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch # BDW15017 actually comes with its own mounting bracket. The problem is that since you secure the winch by threading the bolts through the bottom of the bracket to the bottom of the winch you would have to permanently mount the winch by welding it to your trailer.

If you plan on just leaving the winch on your trailer then this is perfectly acceptable as I confirmed this with my contact at Bulldog Winch. If you have a way to customize a bracket on your trailer like what is on the trailer in the attached installation video then that would work too but you would need to basically customize everything.
