We do have a variety of retractable tonneau covers that fit your 2008 Chevy Silverado and can be stopped at different lengths along the rails!
I recommend going with the RetraxPRO MX Hard Tonneau Cover because it has a handle that allows you to stop the cover at any point along the rails and comes with a matte black finish for a sleek but durable look. If you have a 5-1/2' bed then you want part # RT80431, for a 6-1/2' bed part # RT90432, or for an 8' bed part # RT80423. These fit whether you have the Cargo Management System or not. Attached is a review video for you to check out the features of this tonneau cover.
For more of an economic solution we have the Pace Edwards JackRabbit Hard Tonneau Cover which can be set to stop at 12" intervals and has the classic gloss black finish. The part numbers vary for this depending on if you have the Cargo Management System or not so you can simply choose from the following:
5-1/2 Foot Bed - with Cargo Management System - # 311-JRC5670
6-1/2 Foot Bed - with Cargo Management System - # 311-JRC5468
8 Foot Bed - with Cargo Management System - # 311-JRC5569
5-1/2 Foot Bed - without Cargo Management System - # 311-JRC3250
6-1/2 Foot Bed - without Cargo Management System - # 311-JRC0303
8 Foot Bed - without Cargo Management System - # 311-JRC8569
