Comparison of Yakima Holdup, Kuat Transfer 2, and Sherpa 2.0
Question:
Hello Experts, I am currently trying to purchase my first bike rack. I am caught between three racks. I would like to know which rack would be best in terms of long traveling distances 8-12 hour car rides and durabilty. Something that could ease my mind about safety and protection while I drive. I like that the Kuat Transfer is financially friendly, but if the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 or Yakima is better than so be it. I have a concern with the Sherpa because it does not have the bike tire cups like the Transfer or Holdup do. If you were in my shoes and money was not an issue which rack would you go with? I appreciate your time answering my question.

If I had to pick between the three bike racks you mentioned I would go with the Kuat Sherpa part # SH22G for a few reasons. It's the lightest weight at 32 lbs, (Transfer is 47 and Holdup is 49), it's the most stable on the road (I attached a test course video for each and over the speed bumps it was the most stable). I would not worry about the wheel trays being smaller either. The straps and wheel hook are very stable and secure the bikes well. We also have quite a few reviews from our customers for this rack and they all really like it as well so I know you'll be happy with it. I also attached a review video too for you to check out.
