Can Adapter Bar be Used to Secure Step-Through Frame Bike on the Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack

I purchased a Swagman 2-Bike Hitch Mount Rack, Model# 64650. My wifes bike has a step through frame with a steep pitched bar. I need to use a crossbar, but want to make sure the design of the Swagman I bought will be compatible. What I see in the videos on the crossbar is they are typically hanging on the racks. To make work with this bike rack, you will need to apply pressure down on the crossbar to secure it. Is there a crossbar designed for that? I need to make sure it can take downward pressure.

Yes! For situations like yours where one of the bikes has a step-through frame you can definitely use an adapter bar like the Swagman # 64005 to secure your wife's bike on your XC 2-Bike Rack # S64650.

We have spoken with manufacturers before and this is what they recommend doing as well.
