Does Curt Echo Brake Controller Allow Reverse Light Circuit to Pass Through to Trailer

Obviously surge brakes dont require a brake controller, however my trailer has a reverse lock out feature which is electronically controlled. Does the curt ehco send a signal notifying that the vehicle is in reverse? Or would thaf need to be hardwired under the accessory portion for the 7 way on the vehicle?

If the 7-way of your vehicle has a reverse light circuit that activated when it's in reverse the Curt Echo part # C51180 would allow that circuit to pass through the controller and make it to the trailer.
