Replacement Bump Stops for a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado LT with Rough Country 6 Inch Lift Kit

Question:

Actually rough country was wrong with their answer, I have the lift kit installed and the factory bump sits about 6 and 1/2 inches off of the lower control arm now. The rear does not change cause the bump is on top of the leaf spring and the block is below. Can I purchase the front active off-road bumps for the “16 Colorado and extra spacers? Or do they make a thicker spacer? The part number for the spacer that comes with it is A16248-003 but I can’t seem to find that by itself. Let me know if you can order just that part.. unfortunately I think it’s only 1/2 thick right? Any suggestions let me know. Thanks

For starters, if you are going to be using your 2016 Chevrolet Colorado LT for towing then the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System would be correct but if you going to be using your 2016 Chevrolet Colorado LT for off roading then I recommend using the Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops. The Off-Road system has a softer spring which you will want for hard impacts whereas the SES system has a harder spring that will be better for constant loads.

I called Rough Country and the said that the way this 6" lift kit it setup, the distance between the bottom of the factory bump stops and contact point does not change so you will not need to use any spacers. The overall height of either rear kit is 4-5/8" tall and the overall height of either front kit is 2" tall. I have attached the correct part numbers for you below.

Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops - Front part # TABSGMFCC
Timbren Suspension Enhancement System - Front part # TGMFCCA

Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops - Rear part # TABSOSR
Timbren Suspension Enhancement System - Rear part # TGMRCCA

I spoke to my contact at Timbren and they do not recommend adding any additional spacers with the Active Off-Road Bumpstops like they do for the Suspension Enhancement Systems. The reason for this is because the Off-Road is designed to act as a damper to prevent any damage from occurring if the suspension where to overextend itself. The SES is designed for constant load so the distance between the bump stop and contact point is more critical.
