Does the Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness Include a Battery Isolator

does this tow pkg include an isolator to prevent a dead vehicle battery while hooked up to a travel trailer and parked overnight ?? thanks in advance,

The Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, # 118242, includes the wiring and relays needed to replace the factory 7-Way on a truck that has the factory tow package. If the original tow package included a battery isolator feature it would be part of the tow package wiring on the truck and not in these replacement items.

In order to see if the 7-Way has power even with the key off, you can test the 7-Way at the back of the truck with the key off using a circuit tester like # PTW2993. You will test the pin in the 1 o'clock position. If it shows power with the key off, then you know that it provides power all of the time.

If it does not show power, it may be that something has to be connected first. Connect the trailer and then on the trailer side, test the wire for 12-volt accessories. If it does not show power, you know that it is not drawing power from the vehicle battery.
