This is a great rack, but there could be a few improvements. The great things are that it's light and strong and has multiple attachment points and the built in winches are a plus. The improvements are 1) the winch needs to be smoother, with better separation. I used my own plastic washers to separate it and it works better. 2) the front of this caused my truck to whistle, I had to wrap it to prevent that. A wind baffle would be an improvement. 3) the edges of the cutouts and also the legs can be sharp and it would be nice if the manufacturing process could grind them a bit to ease or chamfer the edges.

Good service but you might want to refer to Pace Edwards, they said this rack will not fit on my truck. I am hoping I can adapt to.

I am very satisfied with my rack. We made own base plates to install with electric bed cover that was already in place. Otherwise easy to assemble and halls quite a bit of lumber.

  • Can A Pace Edwards Contractor Rig Ladder Rack Be Installed Without A Tonneau Cover
    Hi Mike, The Pace Edwards Contractor Rig Rack Truck Bed Ladder Rack # 311-CR6007 mounts into the track of the cover so from the manufacturer's standpoint you would need the cover in order to use the rack. There aren't currently any clamps designed to work with this rack so if you really wanted to use it without the cover you'd have to custom make them yourself. The bed width can vary depending on the year/make/model of the vehicle so each of these will only fit specific vehicles.
