Your 2013 Toyota Highlander with the 3.5L v6 engine uses a cartridge style oil filter which means the Derale Plate-Fin Engine Oil Cooler Kit part # D15405 will not work for you. With that being said, it is unlikely that you would need an oil cooler if you are within the towing capacity. In most newer vehicles, installing an engine oil cooler can have a negative impact as they actually cause a decrease in oil pressure. The decreased oil pressure is not drastic but does have more of an affect on some of the newer more sophisticated vehicles we drive today which is why I typically do not recommend installing one.
Instead, if you were to install a cooler on your vehicle for towing I would highly recommend one for the transmission fluid. For this, I like the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13503 which comes with everything you need and will be much more beneficial for towing than an oil cooler would for your particular application.
