Question:

Is this compatible with a 2005 Ford F-150 with a 4 pin hook up? Thanks!

Actually yes. Even though your 2005 Ford F-150 doesn't have a factory 7-way you can still install the Hopkins Smart Hitch, part # HM50002. The difference is you'll need to hardwire it instead of just plug and play like with a factory 7-way.

I've linked the install details so you can see the complete process. Basically, you need to cut off the connector on the Smart Hitch that normally plugs into the back of a factory 7-way. Then you need to find the reverse light wire in your truck and use that to provide power to the Smart Hitch and connect the Smart Hitch's ground wire to the ground wire behind the truck's tail light.
