Will Ram 2500 Truck Still Benefit from Using Weight Distribution

Question:

Hi, Ive been using my Centerline TS for a year with my Ram 1500 and 7k trailer, its been great on the road but a pain to hook up/disconnect... Ill leave my trailer tilting to the side for 2 days rather than hook up just to level it. Im upgrading to a 2500 RAM. With 1100 lbs tongue weight on such a truck, do I need weight distribution? Thanks

1,100 lbs of tongue weight is quite a bit of tongue weight even for a 2500 series Ram truck. Some people probably get by without WD in your situation but your best towing experience will be to use the system you have. One thing that makes using the systems a bit easier is a powered A-frame jack. What you can do is jack the tongue of the trailer up with the powered jack while the trailer is connected to the hitch ball and this will make getting the springs bars onto and off of the hangers much easier.

My favorite powered jack to recommend is the Lippert # LC643589 Smart Jack. It offers 22 inches of lift and a 3500 pound capacity. The smart jack remembers the height you unhitctched at and automatically returns to that position when told. No more having to stand there cranking it and checking to see if you are clear yet. I have attached a video for you.
