Troubleshooting Engine Oil Leak on 2001 Dodge 5.9 Magnum At Oil Filter Sandwich Adapter  

Question:

2001 dodge 5.9 magnum. My truck has an engine oil cooler on it.. it’s has a slow leak and it appears to be coming from the fittings.. the hoses are wet near the fitting but it’s actually dripping down the filter

It sounds like you either have a bad o-ring, the incorrect fittings, or the threads have been stripped. You don't need the entire kit like # D15502 for that fix. I recommend the Derale Thermostatic Sandwich Adapter Kit - Multiple Engine Filter Threads # D15782 as a replacement. This will use barb style fittings and hose clamps at the hoses and when installed correctly should not have any leak.
