Charging Six 6-Volt Batteries in a 12 Volt System with 1 Battery Charger

Question:

Im using 6-6 volt 220 ah batteries wired for the 12 volt system in my motor home 93 Beaver 36 ft What charger would be correct with that many batteries that are some times stored for long periods of time? Will the desulfer feature on some chargers work with this many batteries? Thank you for your assistance.

You can choose multiple batteries provided they are connected in parallel to remain a 12 volt system. You will connect the positive terminal at the first battery positive post and the negative terminal to the first battery negative post.

If you have 2 banks of 3 batteries, you would have to separate the 2 banks of batteries and charge each set of 3 separately. You will want to use a larger charger that can handle a higher ah rating. The CTEK MULTI US 7002 12-Volt Universal Battery Charger, # CTEK56353, would be the way to go. It will take a very long time to charge 3 batteries. But all functions of the charger, including the desulfation stage, should still work.
