Would Running One Set of Snow Chains 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Damage 4WD

Question:

I ordered you chains that fit my trail hawk TC2317. I have not received them yet but then started to do some research. Will running these on the front tires damage the 4 wheel drive system? I would be using them in deep snow in off road conditions and not on pavement going over a mountain pass. Some people say it changes the size of the tires and can cause damage to the 4wd. They say to chain up all 4 tires to avoid that possible damage. Can you advise? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

In deep snow you would not damage anything by running only one set of chains. On dry pavement if you were in 4WD and you had two different size tires there'd be an issue, but in deep snow the rear axle would hardly have any traction so that would not be something to worry about at all. That said, in deep snow you'll want all the traction you can get so running chains on all 4 tires will be ideal as long as your owners manual says it's okay.
