Recommended Wide Wheel Fulton Jack for Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a Fulton F2 1600 lb trailer jack with a single wheel. It came on a trailer that I bought last spring. It is a piece of junk. Extremely difficult to manoeuvre the trailer especially when the boat is on the trailer. Can I replace the single wheel with the double wheel ? If so, is it going to increase the manoeuvrability of the trailer ? How do you replace the single wheel with the double wheel ? Cutoff the wheel just above the round steel bushing? Or is it better to buy the double wheel and the multi-step tube ? Thank-you

While we don't have a double wheel option, the Wide-Track Wheel Assembly for Fulton F2 Adjustable A-Frame Jack - 8" Diameter - 1,600 lbs # F500266 will be an improvement on your single wheel jack. It sounds like you have the side wind jack which does not have the pin and clip option. The wide wheel will not be compatible with the inner tube of that jack, and unfortunately there is not a replacement option for the jack that you have.

My recommendation is to replace the jack with the Fulton F2 Swing-Up Trailer Jack, Wide 8" Wheels, Sidewind, Bolt-On - 1,600 lbs # F1413420134. The wide wheel will give you more turning ease and because the wheels are not side by side, this would also help to avoid being stopped by small rocks or debris. I've attached the page to all of your jack with wheel options to further assist.
