Starting with the trailer hitch I recommend the Draw-Tite Class I Sport Frame Receiver Hitch # DT24950 for your 2018 Audi A4.

Both this Draw-Tite and the Curt # C11448 that is also designed to fit your vehicle feature a similar design and will mount in the same location, however unlike Curt, Draw-Tite does not require that you use an additional safety strap for non-trailer loads (bike racks and cargo carriers) to maintain the hitch warranty. Since this is exactly what you will be using the hitch for I definitely recommend going with the Draw-Tite for this reason. Installing the Curt stabilizing strap can be a bit of a pain and would just be another step you'd have to take before getting to the trail.

I have attached an installation video on the 2017 model Audi A4 that you can use for reference. The process will be identical on your 2018 model.

Then when choosing a bike rack it is important to select one that is compatible with a Class I hitch. Also keep in mind that the most bikes a Class I hitch can safetly support with a bike rack is 2. I really like the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack # KU74FR. This is a Class I compatible platform-style rack that uses its ratcheting hooks to secure the bikes by their wheels without any frame contact. The convenient foot pedal on the carrier is a great features that allows you to easily tilt the rack away from the vehicle (with the bikes still loaded) for easy rear cargo access. It can handle 2 bikes of up to 40 pounds each.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this bike rack that you can check out. I have also included a link that will take you to our available selection of Class I compatible bike racks that you can look through.
