There is not a specific, recommended method for installing the Ribbed Rubber Trailer Mat, # 4872SM. You could nail, tack, or glue the mat down to your trailer, it just depends on how you want to install the mat.

The mats are pretty heavy though so if they are going on a wall glue isn't going to hold them. Also, since they are ribbed the surface area for the glue to attach to is limited as well. The strongest polyurethane style glue you can find for the floor would be ideal if that's the route you want to go.

Would like to know the weight of this rubber mat? Also can this be installed on a open utility trailer? I have a 80 inch wide by 12 feet long aluminum trailer which has a plywood floor. Thinking of placing the mats on plywood if not to heavy. What are your thoughts? Thanks Bob

The Surehoof Rubber Mat # 4872SM weighs about 60 pounds. I don't see any reason why it couldn't be installed on an open utility trailer like yours as long as it's properly secured.
