Gooseneck Hitch Ball and 5th Wheel Hitch for 2008 Ford F-450
Question:
What kind of in ball do I need and what fifth wheel hitch can I install using the goose neck?

Expert Reply:
Ford didn't make an OEM gooseneck back in 2008 and the Elite puck system is only a fit for Ford F-450 models back to 2011, so I will need a couple pictures and any other information you can give on what hitch you might have in your truck. It is not uncommon for dealers to add an aftermarket gooseneck hitch and sell it as a dealer option. Any markings on the hitch will be a help so we can get you the correct replacement hitch ball.
Once we have the correct hitch ball, I recommend using the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter - Single Jaw - 21,000 lbs # DM8550045 which is compatible with almost all gooseneck hitches.
Once we know what gooseneck hitch is installed in your vehicle, there may be other options for a 5th wheel hitch, but this is the most universal fit that will work well if we cannot determine the manufacturer.
If you are looking for a complete replacement, then the best option is the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs # BWGNRK1108 along with the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs # BWRVK3500. This system is designed to work perfectly together and is a favorite in the market to give you that clean bed as well.
