I guess my first question would be if you would like to convert the 6-round trailer connector on the vehicle to match the 5-round trailer connector on the trailer or convert the 5-round trailer connector on trailer to match the 6-round trailer connector on the vehicle. We have options for both ways which I have attached for you below.
In order to change out the 6-round vehicle side trailer connector you are going to need to use the Pollak 5-Pole, Round Pin Trailer Wiring Socket part # PK11502. In order to change out the 5-round trailer side trailer connector you are going to need to use the Pollak 6-Pole, Round Pin, Trailer Wiring Connector part # PK11604.
The standard wire color functions are as follows:
Trailer Side:
White - Ground
Brown - Tail Lights
Yellow - Left Turn
Red - Stop and/or Electric Brakes
Green - Right Turn
Blue - Auxiliary Circuit
Vehicle Side:
White - Ground Return
Green - Right Turn and Brake Lights
Yellow - Left Turn and Brake Lights
Red - Auxiliary Circuit
Brown - Tail Lights
With that being said, you are going to want to test each wire with a circuit tester (vehicle side) and 12 volt battery (trailer side) in order to be certain it has the correct function. I have attached our trailer wiring help article which you may find useful as well.
