Dimensions of the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer, HD Shock Upgrades, and Tongue Extensions
Question:
How high off the ground are the roof rackinch bars on the Rack-N-Roll? the description recommends HD Shocks Y08110inch for loads over 250 pounds. Thats really not just the shock thats HD... The springs are stronger too... right? Y08110 Is the existing wiring long enough to accomodate the 6foot tongue extension? Y08109 I guess Yak has this covered, but allowable overhang seems to vary state-by-state and it would be good to know exactly how much overhang there would be. I suppose the definitive measurement would be from behind the hitch to the license plate holder on the trailer. Y08107

From the ground to the top of the crossbars when the the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer, # Y08106, is level, it measures 22 inches. The Heavy Duty Shocks, # Y08110, is using the terms shocks as an all encompassing term that covers the shock itself and the springs for greater capacity.
If you were to use the 6 foot extension, # Y08109, it comes with a wiring harness routed through the extension. One end of it connects to the existing wiring on the trailer and the other end would then connect to the towing vehicle.
