Trailer Hitch Receiver Compatible with 2010 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Service Body
Question:
Hello, I have a 2010 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with an 8 foot Service Body on it. It has a 10 inch step on the back bumper, and the bottom of the the frame to the bottom of the bumper is 4 inches. I am looking for a Class V hitch that will work for my application. Would the BWHDRH25187 de a good choice, or would you recommend something different?

Expert Reply:
The B&W Heavy-Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - 2" # BWHDRH25187 is the best option for your 2010 Chevy Silverado 2500 chassis with 10 inch step bumper. The only thing to consider is the depth of your bumper is greater than the typical step bumper. I've attached a photo to assist. This will put your trailer hitch receiver under your bumper, so I recommend an extended length ball mount like # BM20.
Then you can use a 2 inch ball like # A-90 or 2-5/16 inch ball like # 19286 for the Brophy mount.
For your wiring harness, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way and 4-Pole Flat Connectors # C55774. This will give you a little additional length to your connector.
