Largest Cargo Carrier Recommendation for 2015 Hyundai Veloster
Question:
I plan on purchasing the c11254 trailer hitch for my 2015 Veloster, base model. My plan is to only attach a cargo carrier to it, not a trailer. What is the largest cargo carrier I can purchase to fit the bill since it is only at 1 1/4 ball mount?

For your 2015 Hyundai Veloster the Curt Hitch part # C11254 is a confirmed fit and would work well for carrying a cargo carrier. You will need to use the stabilizer strap part # 18050 with this hitch when the carrier is installed as Curt requires the use of a stabilizer strap with this hitch when carrying a non-supported load. The biggest carrier we have that fits a Class I hitch like this is the Reese part # 63155 which measures 20 inches by 47 inches. This carrier has a rise shank of 3" to give you extra ground clearance and measures 11 inches from the hitch pin hole to the carrier.
The Curt hitch part # C11254 has a Tongue weight capacity of 100 pounds. This cannot be exceeded. The carrier # C63155 weighs 44 pounds. This would have to be subtracted from the 100 pounds and would leave you able to carry 56 pounds or less of cargo.
I attached a review video for this carrier for you to check out as well.
