Aero Roof Rack for 2018 Grand Cherokee Upland with E Group Flush Roof Rails

Question:

I have a 18 Grand Cherokee Upland. I believe it is a Laredo E with the upland package and part of the package is gloss black roof rails. Which crossbars would I need for it? There is some confusion on my part if the roof rails are the laredo E?

In 2014 the Jeep Grand Cherokee "Laredo" became the base model and in 2018 the Upland version was released based on the Laredo "E" trim level. If your front-to-back roof rails have a metal strip on top then you do have the E Group package.

For this E Group roof configuration (with rails that have the metal strips) we have roof rack options shown on the linked page. I suggest one of the quieter aero-style racks that will make less noise than basic round and square bar roof racks.

The cleanest-looking aero rack comes from Thule, their black AeroBlade Edge system made of parts # TH7602B-TH7602B and # THKIT3142. This black bar roof rack appears more like a factory original rack than an aftermarket product, but costs a lot less. Locks can be added any time by using kit # TH450400. A video is linked to illustrate the rack features.

If you like the appearance of the black bar roof rack but prefer a lower priced option you might consider the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero rack made of parts # RRVA126B-2, # RRRCL4 and # RRRCP27-BK. This aero rack offers similarly quieter performance than basic racks. Metal locks can be added using kit # RRVA-LEC4. The linked video for this rack shows installation on a 2018 Grand Cherokee.
