Roof Rack and SUP Carriers for 3 SUPs on a 2016 Chevy Tahoe
Question:
I would like to transport 3 SUPs on my 2016 Tahoe. I see answers on carrying 2, but not 3. It seems that it may not be recommended to stack 3. My vehicle currently has factory rails, but not crossbars. I had planned on the standard Tahoe crossbars, but now wonder if I should go with a wider bar. I would prefer to achieve my goal with as budget friendly configuration as is safe and reasonable.

Let's start with a roof rack for your 2016 Chevy Tahoe with factory side rails. The most cost effective option is from Inno using the following parts:
Square bars # INB165
Feet # INXP
Fit kit # INTR154
You can then use the Thule SUP Shuttle # TH811XT to carry 2 of the boards stacked. Like you said stacking 3 boards is not recommended due to instability. At the widest this carrier will take up 35 inches of crossbar space.
The square bars listed above are 65 inches long so if you subtract 35 you would have 30 inches left to carry the other SUP. You could use the Rhino-Rack Nautic # RR571 to carry that third board. This all depends on how wide the boards are. If more space is needed there are longer bars available, # IN434, at 71 inches long.
