How to Activate 12V Pin on Vehicle 7-Way Connector

Question:

Hi - I have a similar situation to the one I copied off your site - Jameson C said he has a video to show how to run the charge wire. I have the 7 way to 4 pin adaptor,which works for the brake and signal lights,but does not charge the battery.I would to see the video first to be sure I order the correct parts. Could that be sent to me ? Im not sure on how to install the breaker and wire. thanks

Since you have the Hopkins 4-Pole to 7-Pole Adapter # 37185 installed, you will just need to run a length of 10 gauge wire like # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) from the black wire on the adapter to your vehicle battery through a 40 amp breaker like # 9510.

I have attached the video you mentioned below which shows how this wire is ran. The video is on a brake controller installation so you can skip ahead to around the 1:45 mark which is where this process begins. I have also attached a wiring diagram of a fully functional 7-Way (you will only pay attention to the black 12V wire for your application) and an article on exactly this subject that you might find helpful.
