Can 12 Volt Trailer Wiring Circuit be Ran so That Its Hot All the Time
Question:
Does the 12 volt #4 terminal have to be wired through the tow vehicle ignition switch? I would like to use the lights without turning the key forward and powering the trucks systems 2003 Ford F-350 Diesel

12 volt accessory circuits do not have to be ran so that they are only active when the key is on. It's actually really simple to have a 12 volt trailer wiring circuit that's hot all the time. You'd just need to run a length of 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 directly to the positive post of your trailer battery through a breaker like part # 9510 and you'd be set.
