Per the owner's manual for the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System part # SM99251, the G-Force Controller will need to be mounted within the passenger compartment of the vehicle with the Demco logo level and facing towards the passenger side of the vehicle. Therefore no, the G-Force Controller cannot be mounted in the engine bay compartment vertically.
