Weight Distribution Shank Recommendation for Needing Up to 6-1/4 inch Drop
Question:
I have a Husky HT32217 800-pound Weight Distribution System with the standard shank with the 1-1/4inch drop. I have a 2016 F250 FX4 with the Diesel and need to approximately 2-1/2inch further 3-3/4inch total but want the reserve ability to drop up to 6-1/4inch total because I have noticed that the new F250s are taller. Which shanks are appropriate as a replacement? Also how is measured? Is it the distance from the bottom of the receiver insertion hole to the top of the Weight Distribution System head?

The great thing about weight distribution shanks is that basically all manufacturers make them to the same spec so they are interchangeable with other brands. The best option we have that would cover the range you need is the Curt weight distribution shank part # C17123 which can do a drop up to 8-1/4 inch and since it has holes all along the vertical portion of the shank you can basically do anything between that and zero drop.
Rise/drop is measured from the top of the hitch opening to the base of the hitch balls shank.
