How to Determine if Kuat NV Bike Rack will Fit on 2018 Mazda 3 with Draw-Tite # 24914 Trailer Hitch

I am looking to purchase a hitch for our new 2018 Mazda3 hatchback. We already have a Kuat NV core hitch mount bike rack. Your video suggests the draw tight hitch is further recessed. I don’t want to resort to a extension. Would you be able to help me determine of the curt or drawtight is the better choice. Thanks!

When we installed the Curt # C11377 on a 2017 Mazda 3 we found that from the center of the hitch pin hole to the rearmost edge of the bumper was 3". In the comparison video that you referenced we say that the center of the pin hole of the Draw-Tite # 24914 sits 4" further back than the Curt. If the measurements are the same for your 2018 Mazda 3 then that would mean the center of the pin hole for the Draw-Tite would be 7" from the rearmost edge of your bumper.

If by "NV Core" bike rack you meant the NV 2.0 Base # BA12B then this will fit even folded as the closest part of the bike rack (when folded) measures 7-7/8" from the center of the hitch pin hole.

Since there can be variances between model years I went ahead and measured the Draw-Tite # 24914. From the horizontal mounting hole to the center of the hitch pin hole measured 11-1/4". You can use this distance to determine if your Kuat bike rack will be compatible with your vehicle or if you need to go with the Curt hitch instead.
