Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for 2015 Ram 1500 with 5-1/2 Foot Bed and Ram Boxes
Question:
I have a 2015 Ram 1500 5foot 7inch short box with the Rambox. Will this hitch work with the short box and the Rambox storage?

Your only option for towing a fifth-wheel trailer with your 2015 Ram 1500 that has the 5-1/2 foot bed and Ram Boxes is with a fixed hitch # RP30047 and a Reese and Sidewinder Pin Box. A sliding hitch like you referenced will not provide enough cab clearance for making tight turns with your truck and trailer.
A Reese Sidewinder Pin Box will replace the pin box on your trailer and move the pivot point 22 inches behind the king pin. This is the only way to gain enough cab clearance with your truck. The Sidewinder is designed to replace the factory pin box on the trailer, so in order to pick out the correct unit you will need to first locate the existing pin box model on your trailer. This information should be located somewhere on the pin box itself, either with a sticker or stamped right into the king pin. If you can tell me what model you have, I will be happy to recommend the correct Sidewinder product. I have also attached a link that will take you directly to our available selection that you can look through.
Then for a fixed fifth-wheel hitch I recommend taking a look at the Reese 16K # RP30047, along with the Custom Installation Kit # RP50142-58. This hitch features a 2-jaw locking system for an excellent connection with the trailer and a 4-Way pivoting head to ease hookup on unlevel ground. I have attached a short video demonstration on this hitch that you can also check out.
