How to Power Camper Exterior Lights without Hooking Up to Tow Vehicle

Question:

Is there anyway I can plug my trailer electrical connector into a 110 volts outlet or have some kind of converter that I can use? I would love to see my camper lights exterior lights without hooking up into my truck. Thanks.

If you are just wanting a way to power your exterior camper lights without having to hook up to the tow vehicle, your best option will be to wire the lights up to the positive terminal on a trailer mounted battery. You will want to run the wire from the battery to a switch like # PK34571, then from there to a diode # RM-690 and then on to the lights you are wanting to power.

Otherwise there isn't really an easy way to plug your camper directly to AC power, as trailer lights and accessories are typically designed to run off of 12V DC power. In order to plug into AC power, the trailer would need to be fittted with a transfer switch and electrical panel like what you find on a home. This would be a pretty major conversion for a trailer that isn't already set up for it.
